Guinness Book of World Record
With A Purpose
On the Fourth of July 1992, Susan Jeske established a World Record, published in the Guinness Book of Records, by singing the National Anthem at the most events in a 24-hour period. She traveled 373 miles by a limousine, 8 miles by a helicopter, 3 miles by a boat and used a motorcycle to help her get through traffic and crowds. Through this effort she was able to raised $93,000 which all the money was given to charity. The reaction of the audience cut through all generations and cultural barriers and no matter what our differences are it is a powerful song that unites us and reminds us that we live in a great country.
Susan Jeske received letters of Congratulations from President Clinton, President Reagan, the Governor of California, Congressmen, Senators and from the Mayor of her City. Television coverage included NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC, FOX, OCN, and Turner Broadcasting.
